In December I suffered from <strong>discontent<\/strong> due to idleness and a cold apartment, causing me to yearn to be home where at least I have lots to do and a warm house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My thinking led me to read: <strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Philosophies&nbsp;of&nbsp;Innovation, History\u00b4s&nbsp; Innovators,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Their&nbsp;Teaching&nbsp;On&nbsp;the&nbsp;Character&nbsp;of&nbsp;Innovation (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.ca\/Philosophies-Innovation-Innovators-Teachings-Character-ebook\/dp\/B00ETIJ66I\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1546031119&amp;sr=8-1&amp;keywords=Philosophies+of+Innovation%2C+History%C2%B4s++Innovators%2C+and+Their+Teaching+On+the+Character+of+Innovation\" target=\"_blank\">Philosophies&nbsp;of&nbsp;Innovation, History\u00b4s&nbsp; Innovators,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Their&nbsp;Teaching&nbsp;On&nbsp;the&nbsp;Character&nbsp;of&nbsp;Innovation<\/a><\/strong> by Michael Tirado.  It is a compilation of quotes from over 50 &#8220;of the most notable creators and innovators in history&#8221;.  While filled with wisdom, what follows are the quotes I find most personally guiding for the new year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>&#8220;I hear and I forget.  I see and I remember.  I do and I understand&#8221; <\/strong>&#8211; Confucius (b. 551 BC)<br><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em><strong>&#8220;Tell me and I forget.  Teach me and I remember.  Involve me and I learn&#8221; <\/strong>&#8211; Benjamin Franklin&nbsp;(b.&nbsp;1706)<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>&#8220;A well spent day brings happy sleep&#8221; <\/strong>&#8211; Leonardo da Vinci (b. 1452)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>&#8220;Things won are done; joy\u00b4s soul lies in the doing&#8221;<\/strong> &#8211; William Shakespeare (b. 1564)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>&#8220;We must cultivate our own garden.  When man was put in the garden of Eden he was put there so that he should work, which proves that was not born to rest&#8221;<\/strong> &#8211; Voltaire (b. 1694)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><strong>&#8220;It is the working man who is the happy man.
