{"id":352,"date":"2015-11-21T12:04:23","date_gmt":"2015-11-21T20:04:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ashworthdavidg.ca\/?p=352"},"modified":"2026-04-19T15:25:13","modified_gmt":"2026-04-19T22:25:13","slug":"week-1-guanajuato-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ashworthdavidg.duckdns.org\/wordpress\/index.php\/2015\/11\/21\/week-1-guanajuato-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Week 1 &#8211; Guanajuato 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/ashworthdavidg.duckdns.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/c9397-20151121_131550.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-353\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ashworthdavidg.duckdns.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/c9397-20151121_131550.jpg 640w, https:\/\/ashworthdavidg.duckdns.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/c9397-20151121_131550-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve been in Guanajuato for a week now and am very content. &nbsp;The photo above is the view from the roof of the casa. &nbsp;It has been sunny and warm every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;m enjoying going to Spanish school and I don&#8217;t think I have every spoken better, which is very encouraging considering that I&#8217;ll be here another 16 weeks or so. &nbsp;I go to school Mon-Fri, 9-12. &nbsp;It&#8217;s about a 15 minute walk to the school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Up to now I&#8217;ve been eating out. &nbsp;A nice multi-course meal of the day costs around 75 pesos including tip ($6 Cdn). &nbsp;Also there is lots of street food of course. &nbsp;Saturday morning is when I enjoy tamales for breakfast in Plaza Baratillo. &nbsp;I made salsa roja last night and will eat in tonight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve been physically active every day, either running or hiking. &nbsp;I walk everywhere and everything is a short distance away. &nbsp;There are many options for entertainment including my favourite CineClub at the university.
