{"id":305,"date":"2015-07-10T09:37:17","date_gmt":"2015-07-10T16:37:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ashworthdavidg.ca\/?p=305"},"modified":"2026-04-19T15:30:50","modified_gmt":"2026-04-19T22:30:50","slug":"next-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ashworthdavidg.duckdns.org\/wordpress\/index.php\/2015\/07\/10\/next-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Next Project"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I visited family in Ontario for two weeks in early June. &nbsp;Thanks to my sister Karen for hosting and keeping me busy. &nbsp;Just before I left I ordered plans for a 2-car garage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.westhomeplanners.com\/utils\/imageFlop.php?src=\/db\/images\/1279_rendering.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The plans were waiting for me when I returned home and since then I have been planning the construction. &nbsp;Yesterday I applied for a building permit which will take a few weeks to be processed. &nbsp;In the meantime I am searching for a contractor to build the slab-on-grade foundation. &nbsp;The rest of the construction I will do myself with some help from friends to do heavy lifting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" src=\"https:\/\/ashworthdavidg.duckdns.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/6d6b2-site-plan.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-308\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ashworthdavidg.duckdns.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/6d6b2-site-plan.jpg 480w, https:\/\/ashworthdavidg.duckdns.org\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/6d6b2-site-plan-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 85vw, 480px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Above is the site plan. &nbsp;Currently the driveway extends from the road all the way back to the shed where there is a car\/boat tent. &nbsp;The strategic placement of the garage turns the area behind the garage into garden space, provides&nbsp;privacy, and increases the deer-free zone. &nbsp;BTW the deer did not penetrate the newly constructed fences while I was away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The schedule is to build the foundation this year and then construct the rest in 2016 after I return from Mexico. &nbsp;Yes, I decided to return to Guanajuato next winter, leaving mid-November and returning mid-March. &nbsp;I will be renting the same efficiency apartment and going to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lahaciendaspanishschool.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">La Hacienda Spanish School<\/a>, newly founded by my teacher friends.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I visited family in Ontario for two weeks in early June. &nbsp;Thanks to my sister Karen for hosting and keeping me busy. &nbsp;Just before I left I ordered plans for a 2-car garage.
