{"id":267,"date":"2015-01-13T09:20:29","date_gmt":"2015-01-13T17:20:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ashworthdavidg.ca\/?p=267"},"modified":"2015-01-13T09:20:29","modified_gmt":"2015-01-13T17:20:29","slug":"final-days-in-mexico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ashworthdavidg.duckdns.org\/wordpress\/index.php\/2015\/01\/13\/final-days-in-mexico\/","title":{"rendered":"Final Days in Mexico"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I left Guanajuato on Saturday and took a bus to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Guadalajara\" target=\"_blank\">Guadalajara<\/a>, Mexico&#8217;s second largest city. \u00a0The historic Centro is impressive, the surroundings are typical. \u00a0I only saw the old city and that was enough. \u00a0I took a bus to Puerto Vallarta on Monday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ashworthdavidg6722705c1a-bsotj.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/166b1-img_0291.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-269\" src=\"http:\/\/ashworthdavidg6722705c1a-bsotj.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/166b1-img_0291.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_0291\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I ended my trip in 2007 in Puerto Vallarta\u00a0and I am staying in a cheapie hotel right beside where I stayed last time. \u00a0I have said that I don&#8217;t like PV but now I must admit that it&#8217;s a great place for English-speakers. \u00a0Vallarta is beautiful and comfortable and a great place to own property. \u00a0However, its success is its weakness. \u00a0It is packed with non-Mexicans, and it&#8217;s tough to speak Spanish here. \u00a0North and south of PV are many beautiful beach communities, both inundated with foreigners and not.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/ashworthdavidg6722705c1a-bsotj.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/9fb50-img_0292.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-270\" src=\"http:\/\/ashworthdavidg6722705c1a-bsotj.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/9fb50-img_0292.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_0292\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" \/><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/ashworthdavidg6722705c1a-bsotj.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/5f4a9-img_0294.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-268\" src=\"http:\/\/ashworthdavidg6722705c1a-bsotj.wordpress.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/5f4a9-img_0294.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_0294\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I left Guanajuato on Saturday and took a bus to Guadalajara, Mexico&#8217;s second largest city. \u00a0The historic Centro is impressive, the surroundings are typical. \u00a0I only saw the old city and that was enough. \u00a0I took a bus to Puerto Vallarta on Monday.
